De Legende

De Legende has been deviating from every trend or mainstream success since 1990. Throughout all their releases, from 'Ten Dans' in 1992 to 'Eerst de nacht, dan de dag' in 2013, they keep focused on alienating and often absurd lyrics full of word-play, intense performances and razor-sharp analyses of what it means to be a human being in an unwelcoming world.

During concerts, the band plays in almost the full original line-up, consisting of singer Elvis Peeters, also known as the frontman of Aroma di Amore and as a celebrated author, keyboard player Geert Corbeels, once a member of Men 2nd and responsible for dozens of catchy melodies,  violinist and mandolin player Geert Waegeman, who has been involved in dozens of projects, including various theatre productions, soundtracks and contributions to albums by a wide range of artists, from Aroma di Amore and Poésie Noire to Bart Peeters, Jan Desmet, Gorky, Rowwen Hèze and, hmm, K3. They're joined by new band member Geert Mariën, who started in the jazz scene but is most renowned for his drumming for Front 242, Praga Khan and Lords of Acid.

After a break of a few years, the band is currently working on a new album, which will see the light of the moon in September 2025.
