Nachtmahr is and has always been a controversial band, a lot more thought-provoking than merely the provocative look on stage. Their live shows may be explicit and shocking to some, but their main objective is to cause an inner conflict within the spectator. Your legs want to dance, but your brain wants to think. Once the relentless beats stop, those who can transcend the superficiality imposed on us all by one-dimensional social media realize there's actually an intelligent message to be heard in the lyrics and to be witnessed on the screen behind the band's live shows.
Since their inception 17 years ago, the band have released numerous albums and singles, but they have no intentions of resting on their imperial laurels. The new album will see the searchlights in November 2024, followed by a khaki G-string of concerts along the frontlines of the fight against enforced conformity.
The title of the album is 'Verboten', sending a clear message to all those who want to impose a regime that would ban both the fun of an excessive lifestyle and the intellectual reward of independent thought.
