The picturesque Luxemburg, a small country with a large and often underestimated music scene, is the native country of Schëppe Siwen, an ensemble of no less than ten musicians serving a unique cocktail in which they blend traditional folk with the energy of a punk band and influences from reggae, ska and even hiphop.
Since its inception in 2009, the band have been using traditional instruments, like trumpets, violins or accordeons, next to guitars and drums. All lyrics are deliberately sung in Lëtzebuergesch, which is as much a mix of languages as their community is a melting pot of cultures. It's no surprise this band values both social commitment as musical craftmanship highly, as emphasized by the various causes they actively support.
Schëppe Siwen have already released five albums, the newest one being 'Richting Fraiheet' from November 2024.
